中文最微妙的一个字。带出人意料的味。

他倒挺聪明。       He's actually pretty smart.     没想到
我倒不介意。       I don't mind, actually.         跟你想的相反
你倒说说看。       Go ahead, then.                 话头逼回来

小坑

中文的"倒"常常没对应的英文词。靠语序 + actually + if anything 把这层转折带出来。

他倒是来了。      He did come. / He came, surprisingly.

英文强调"居然来了"—— 用 did 加重动词，或者 surprisingly。
